I determined that I will be working with 1 other student in my class. After discussing the the pros and cons of a film and magazine we decided we were going to do a magazine. We thought a magazine would be more practical since we only have a 2 person group. A film would have been too difficult for 2 people we would have had to have other people act for us. We had also seen many examples of magazines and both thought that we would be good at designing and promoting a magazine. We then needed to decide on a topic for our magazine we both like sports and there is a big market for sports magazines. we still have yet to confirm the exact topics we are going to write about. we are know going to research into different magazines to find how they format there magazine and how the promote it.

I am interested in doing a film project because after watching films in class and learning about the production, I think i would enjoy doing a film project. In class, we watched the film Ferris Bueller  and watched the behind the scenes and i learned a lot about what goes into making a film. I watched many previous blog samples and they were very creative and unique. Although I have very little experience with filming and acting this might be a challenge if i did a film. Also I am not very creative to come up a unique idea for a film intro. In addition, I think that I am going to be in a small group so we would have to find other actors to fill spots. I think That a film would be better at catching an audiences attention and keeping them interested in my project. If i could come up with a creative intro idea and learn how to properly film shots I think i could make a great film. This is why I think that a film is a good fit for me and can also be a challenge.

I was interested in doing a magazine after I looked at some blog samples and I am going to be working by myself or in a small group, so I think it would be more practical to do a magazine instead of a film. I also had a interest in print journalism after watching All the President's men and seeing the impact that print journalism has on the world. I am interested in doing the research into a topic that is necessary to write a magazine article. After watching the Newsroom I was interested in the research and how to write a credible article. I think that I would be better at conveying my ideas and messages through a magazine than though a film. I would enjoy the designing and formatting of a magazine and organizing it to make it flow. The magazine would also be a challenge because I am not the most creative so I think that it would be a challenge to make a unique creative magazine. Based on my experiences I believe that a magazine would be a good choice for me.
