project- Florida Sportsman research

The second Magazine that I researched to  help me format my magazine is Florida Sportsman. They fit into my category of sports magazine and have a big audience in the outdoor community. They have a very eye catching front cover with 4 people standing on the front of a boat holding giant fish on a bright sunny day. They utilize subheadings on the front page to give titles to articles that will be featured inside the magazine. The magazine usually has a detailed 2-3 page article then between there article they put adds and pictures. Inside there articles they have a quote they pull out and change the font and increase text size this is supposed to catch the readers attention and interest them into reading the full article. I noticed that a lot of the adds that are in the middle are towards the middle of the magazine. The first article they have is usually the top article that is supposed to catch the readers attention and keep the reading the article. The font they use is not the standard times new roman but its not so fancy and elaborate that its hard to read. The magazine also has article from different regions in Florida to attract readers from the area to read what they say about the area they live in. They also feature a how to section to teach people and gains readers that are looking for new information.

The fourth magazine that i decided to analyze is golf digest. From the first look at the cover of the magazine you can see a professional golfer that is in front of a gray backdrop. He is dressed in fully golf attire holding a golf club and smiling. The picture has been taken by a professional photographer and catches the readers eye. the font on the cover of every magazine is the same, and on almost every magazine the words golf and digest are different colors. They put there article tittles on the sides of the front cover so the reader can glance at the front cover and have an idea what is going to be inside the article. Inside the magazine just like most of the other sports magazines they put there adds in the middle of there magazine. The article have a small picture next to it that relates to the article with a quote that is cut out and increased in font size for emphasis. Project- Revision to the table of contents

The first thing that I changed in my background color. It was originally a light blue background but I changed it back to a white background. I did this because it would cost more money to print a blue background and I don't think the color would be worth the cost. I also made the pictures bigger to cover up some of the white space on the magazine and made them even. This will make my magazine look more professional and catch the readers attention.
